A little bit of history...
Morgantown Homecoming has existed (previously as the Morgantown Homeownership Preservation Initiative) since 2005. Since then, Morgantown Homecoming has bought:
- Eight homes in Greenmont;
- Four homes in Wiles Hill (one home demolished and subdivided for two building lots);
- One home in First Ward (one home rehabbed and lot subdivided for two new homes);
- Two homes in Woodburn (one home to be demolished and subdivided for three building lots).
- One lot on White Avenue.
One can look at this impact in two ways. First, we have purchased fifteen homes in Morgantown in three years. This means that fifteen Morgantown homes have been reserved for owner-occupancy. Second, we have provided (or will provide, depending on where we are in the build/rehab and sell process) twenty units of strictly owner-occupied housing in the City of Morgantown.
